Active School Flag Launch Event

Launch Event Review

On Thursday 7th of October 2025, the 4K Active Schools Class hosted their launch event. We decided to have a soccer blitz and rounders blitz for 1st – 4th years.

Everyone in the class had a job:

Transporters – Alannah O’Farrell, Casey Wang, Elizabeth Augulyte, Eva Andreicut, Lola-Rose Murphy, Georgie Dunne, Ciara Smyth & Nikhita Philip

Soccer Referees – Beth Earley & Leah Dolan

Photographers – Katie Whelan & Grace Finn

Soccer Coaches – Isabelle Gill, Layla Kiernan, Jade Bell, Kayla O’Farrell, Aleena Illickal & Anna Jinu

Rounders Supervisors – Grace Manning, Keelin Ahearne, Lizi Doyle, Grace Dunne

4K got together and discussed what we think our strengths were from our launch event. As a class, we decided that the motivating was very strong and helped students take part in each event. Also, the organising and control we had over the events was very successful in our opinion, as many students and teachers complimented us on both of these. Additionally, we found it very important to not take any part of the day too seriously and let everyone have fun, as we saw this day as a break from regular schoolwork. We also captured the day wonderfully with photos and videos being taken throughout the events.

However, 4K admitted that we had some weaknesses in our event, that we can work on and improve for our next one. For example, we think that the 3rd years’ slot was too late in the day, as it was after lunch and everyone was beginning to get tired. If we were to do it again, we would make time before lunch for them.

Following that, this gives us opportunities for our next events, such as having a playlist premade for the whole day so we don’t have to keep changing songs, and also try get everyone to be more enthusiastic.

Altogether, these issues give us targets to work towards in the future, like certain events we would like to host. For example, volleyball events or events including the older years, as we are aware that they didn’t get to participate in our launch event.

Overall, we believe that 4K’s launch event was a success and gave us targets to work towards for our future organising. Thank you to Mr Kiernan and Mr Smith for helping us host a fun Active Schools Flag event!
