Jonathan Tormey, Local Sports Partnership representative from Dublin City County Council, visited our Active School Flag team today. They presented findings from their whole school survey and discussed how our partnership can get our pupils more active. Thanks Jonathan!

Today, the 4L YSI Class had a fantastic Teams meeting with Dr. Mary Barrett, a gynecologist and obstetrician from Cork University Maternity Hospital, who is a specialist in Endometriosis. This session was incredibly helpful for the students as they continue their research for their YSI project, EndoAware, which focuses on spreading awareness about Endometriosis.

The girls are really excited and can’t wait to launch their awareness campaign!

Our TY pupils enjoyed a visit from a guest speaker from Shout Out today, as part of our Stand Up Week. His workshop included discussions and debates. Thanks, Stephen!
It’s Stand Up Week in Maryfield! A variety of activities is being enjoyed by our pupils, for example some Rainbow Baking.

Well done to Michelle Shocan, who won the Lithuanian Junior Badminton International in singles. Michelle also got a bronze medal in doubles with her sister, Hannah.

On Friday October 17th we held our First Year Student Council elections. In Maryfield we highly value our student council and that’s why it is so important that we have representation for every year in our school. We always hold our first-year elections around two months into the school year to let our first-year students to get to know each other better so they can vote with a larger perspective of the candidates in their year. The winners of the first-year student council elections 2025/2026 are Grace Tang 1K and Annabelle Burke 1R. Congratulations to both of you and we are extremely excited to have you on the student council for the upcoming year.
